Professors from Faculty of Dentistry Participate in International Congress in Colombia

On Friday and Saturday, 10-11 August 2012, eighteen professors from the UIC Faculty of Dentistry took part in a congress in Colombia which the UIC organized together with Universidad El Bosque.

The congress "New Approaches to Dentistry around the World" was a reunion of sorts for alumni of Universidad El Bosque.

The congress is held every two years in Latin America and the UIC has been involved in its organization for the last six years. The last two editions were held in Guatemala and Mexico. This year Colombia was chosen. It was the third edition held at Universidad El Bosque in Bogotá, one of Colombia's most prestigious universities in the field of dentistry.

A large number of professors from the faculty participated in the congress, which was coordinated by Dr. Miguel Roig, the Head of Aesthetic Dentistry at the UIC, and Lissethe Peñate, a professor of Restorative and Preventive Dentistry at the UIC.

During the congress an agreement was signed between the UIC and Universidad El Bosque. Dr. Lluís Giner, the Dean of the UIC Faculty of Dentistry, said that the purpose of the agreement was "to be able to work together on projects of great academic, educational and research interest, as well as to facilitate the mobility of professors between the two universities".
