Mireia Tintoré and Xavier Ureta, Professors from the Faculty of Education, recently participated in the CIEDO International Conference on Education. At the event, organised by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), they gave a paper on cooperation between universities and schools to train teachers.
The aim of the paper was to describe the ARMIF-UIC Barcelona 2014-15 project, entitled "Investigar y Emprender: Dos competencias para mejorar la calidad en la formación inicial de los maestros". [Researching and being entrepreneurial: two competences to improve the quality of initial training for teachers]. The aim of this project, which focuses on research and entrepreneurial competences, is to take a big step up in terms of quality in initial teacher training.
The main objective of the ARMIF-UIC Barcelona 2014-15 project is to develop and evaluate strategies which promote the improvement of two types of cross-disciplinary competences: scientific, to promote a critical spirit, to research and investigate; and innovation and creativity, in order to promote entrepreneurial initiative.
It was possible to undertake this project due to funding provided by the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) and awarded to the Faculty of Education at UIC Barcelona.
