Pupils and teachers from Los Pinos School (Ecuador) visit UIC Barcelona
Close to 40 pupils and teachers from Los Pinos School (Quito, Ecuador) visited UIC Barcelona last Friday, 26 April. During the visit, the general manager of the school, Ximena Vega de Llorca, signed a cooperation agreement with the university.
The agreement signed with the school is a cooperation agreement that sets out a relationship between the Ecuadorian school and the university which, for example, will allow pupils to benefit from grants that UIC Barcelona currently offers.
Los Pinos school was founded 1968, after concerns were raised by a group of parents who were seeking a new educational model with specific characteristics, including the concept that Christian anthropology should be the starting point for a comprehensive education. The school’s chaplaincy is entrusted to the Opus Dei. The school has recognised prestige and has been teaching the International Baccalaureate since 1995, so for the past 19 years.
This group visit was part of a trip around Europe for these pupils and teachers. It is also one of the in international visits organised by the International Relations Service. The Service has been setting up visits from international schools since last year.
