Raquel Ruisánchez, awarded with an AEDE prize for best pre-degree project

This Dentistry graduate recently received a prestigious grant in recognition of her in-vitro study to evaluate the impact and degree of apical transportation caused by Reciproc Blue® and WaveOne Gold® rotating nickel titanium files.

At the 38th National Endodontics Conference, organised by the Spanish Association of Endodontics (AEDE), the names of the people awarded with the two grants given out by the association were announced, with the aim of promoting Endodontics studies among potential students. The governing board of the Spanish Association of Endodontics awarded Raquel Ruisánchez a grant for the best research project undertaken by a Dentistry student.

Entitled “In-vitro study to evaluate the impact and degree of apical transportation caused by Reciproc Blue and WaveOne Gold® files” the aim of her study was to measure the impact and degree of apical transportation caused by the innovative rotating nickel titanium files made by Reciproc Blue® and WaveOne Gold® since these are the brands that most frequently respect the original anatomy of curved root canals.  The results were evaluated using periapical x-rays and CBCT.  A hundred questionnaires were also given out to endodontic specialists and to students in their final three years of our Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry.
