The reception and integration of first-year students, a priority at UIC Barcelona School of Architecture

During the week of the Vertical Workshop, first-year undergraduate students took part in a number of cultural activities to discover the city of Barcelona and get to know one another: this year, the School has first-year students from 23 different nationalities. During the activities they were joined by lecturers from the School of Architecture and our Host Students.

The Host Student Programme is a project through which second- to fifth-year students at UIC Barcelona School of Architecture offer support to international architecture students to help them adapt more easily during their first year in Barcelona. Host Students are people the new international students can turn to for support or informal advice: they are available to answer questions and share their experiences about life in Barcelona.

Over the course of the year, UIC Barcelona School of Architecture will organise other cultural and social activities, included in the programme, to spark informal communication among students.
