The rectors of all Vives Network universities meet to establish joint courses of action

The General Council of the Vives University Network, which includes the highest representatives from universities in Catalan-speaking regions, met over the course of two days to establish joint courses of action and supervise the management and implementation of the activities. The meeting brought together 16 rectors, who assembled to establish joint courses of action for the Mediterranean knowledge corridor.

Topics of discussion included a reflection on the new doctoral programmes; the presentation of an initial report on the impact of gender mainstreaming policies on teaching and research at the universities; the approval of a new language policy plan; and a comparative analysis of finance models at the universities.

The attendees also reached an agreement as to the candidates for the 2017 Vives Network Medal of Honour, which will be handed out in June during the session held to close the academic year at the University of Andorra, the identity of whom will not be made public until a few weeks prior to the award ceremony.

In March, current III vice-president and rector of the University of Andorra, Miquel Nicolau, will take over as president, in accordance with the institution's biannual presidency rotation system.
