A researcher from the University of Zagreb gave a talk on culture and values in companies within a subject on strategic management
Within the framework of the Strategic Management subject, 4th year Business Administration and Leadership students received a lecture from Dr Ivan Malbašić, a post-doctoral researcher from the University of Zagreb.
The session, entitled "culture and values", involved a discussion of the behaviour that is generated in companies based on the values that are transmitted to new arrivals. These values, which are instilled from the first contact with the employee, will end up creating what the speaker called "the soul of the organisation".
This culture and these values must be therefore thought about and studied, and they cannot be allowed to flourish by chance because in short, they guide staff behaviour and decisions. This then has an impact on the way its members understand, think and even feel.
Professor Malbašić graduated in Organisation and IT from the University of Zagreb and holds a doctorate in Economics and Business. His research has focused on organisation and social sciences within companies.
