Ricard Mamblona fills the room with white coats for his docuseries entitled ‘Connexió Clínic’

The project at Hospital Clínic brings together professionals from different departments who share their daily activities in the hospital with each other.

Joan Carles Balada, a healthcare assistant and Anna Merino, a doctor from the laboratory at Hospital Clínic are two of the people who participated in the Connexió Clínic project.  These are the two first stars of this docuseries, directed by Ricard Mamblona, which brings together people doing totally different jobs at the Barcelona hospital so that they can leave their comfort zone and discover life in other departments.

“The aim is to improve interdepartmental communication, get to know some of the work of healthcare staff and their departments better and highlight the Clínic’s values through its employees.  And finally, to work towards everything that contributes to an improved experience for patients” said Mamblona.

Balada and Merino are the first stars of a docuseries which will have six episodes in total. Employees from Hospital Clínic, patients and the audience in general will discover different sides of the hospital.  From the fast pace of the emergency department to the meticulous work undertaken in the hospital kitchens and the work of orderlies and laboratory analysis work.

After screening the first episode, “El cor de la cèl·lula”, Mamblona and his team will screen the second one on 7 May, entitled: “Bates i davantals”. Therefore, each month a new episode will be shown in a private screening room at the Clínic before it is broadcast on the hospital’s Youtube channel.  A room full of white coats.

The project, which arose from the hospital’s 2016-2020 strategic plan and is being run by Nou Univers Clínic, started in the summer of 2017 and aims to create more professional and human connections via a joint production between Hospital Clínic and Docmefilms.
