Banco Santander has, for the third time, announced through its Santander Universities Global Division the dates of the application period for SME internship grants. The scholarship programme offers university students financial aid for internships in small and medium-sized businesses in Catalonia during the 2013-2014 academic year.
The Santander SME internship grant application period is open to university students from Friday, 15 November 2013, until Friday, 31 January 2014. Each grant awards 1,800 euros in financial aid distributed over a three-month period.
According to the organizers of the initiative, the programme aims to complement students’ education, expose them to a work environment, broaden their knowledge and foster professional networking to increase their employability.
Some 40 UIC students have already benefited from the two previous calls for applications. By the end of the current academic year, 12,500 students will have benefited from the grants and another 5,000 will do so during the 2014-2015 academic year. On completion of this third round of grant awards, Banco Santander will have allocated over €22 million through Santander Universities for the SME internship programme, which is managed directly by participating universities.
