Scientific Meeting of Master's in Oral Implantology Alumni
About 65 implantologists participated in the 2nd Scientific Meeting of Alumni of the UIC's Master's Programme in Oral Implantology (MIUIC Alumni) on Friday, 22 June 2012. The day's speaker was Dr. Hadi Antoun, a periodontist at the Université de Lyon and an implantologist and professor at the Université de Paris.
Dr. Hadi Antoun, the author of many
books and articles published in international journals on bone grafts and
maxillary sinus elevation, read two papers. The first was Management of the
Posterior Atrophic Mandible and the second was Optimized Implant Therapy of the
Single Tooth in the Aesthetic Zone.
The Master's Programme in Oral
Implantology was created in 1999 by Dr. Federico
Hernández-Alfaro, Dr. Eduard Ferrés Padró and
Dr. Antoni Monner Diéguez.
Since then, 12 classes of implantologists have graduated from the programme.
The members of all of these Master's
classes were trained in the philosophy of professional and scientific
excellence with extensive clinical experience, a fact that was reflected in the
papers read and exchange of knowledge, which was of great interest to all the
participants.
Finally, the team of tutors from the Surgery Department
gave a short tribute and a sign of public gratitude to the Director, Dr. Eduard Ferrés, for "his human
and professional stature", his "enthusiasm" and "his
excellent capacity for work and organization". At the dinner held after
the meeting, most of those attending expressed their enthusiasm and eagerness
to repeat the experience on a regular basis.
