On 12 October the opening of the exhibition “Pere Gastó (1908-1997) L'ésser inacabat” took place at Sala Parés in Barcelona, curated by Sergio Fuentes, PhD in History of Art and lecturer at the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Humanities. The exhibition, which can be seen until 6 November in Espai 3 of Sala Parés, forms part of the Barcelona Gallery Weekend. 

This retrospective exhibition about the Barcelona painter draws from a selection of his work, some of which has never been exhibited, and which depicts the evolution of the artist's career over the last century. The lecturer notes “This is an exhibition that shows the place that Pere and his work merit within 20th century art and which aims to further their appreciation.” The painter’s son, Cristòbal Gastó, was also present at the opening of the exhibition on 12 October. 

Cooperating in the exhibition were the Gastó family, who have loaned previously unexhibited work, a large number of well-known collectors, many of them linked to the artist at various times in their lives, and also the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC), which has loaned some works that had never been publicly displayed.
