«The Sight», «Moments» and «Portrait of an Obsession»: First Final Degree Projects from Faculty of Communication Sciences

On Wednesday, 20 February 2013, students from the first graduating class of the degree programme in Audiovisual Communication, who had completed their studies as part of the new European Higher Education Area, defended before a jury the short films they had created for their final degree projects.

The students presented three short films: The Sight, Moments, and Portrait of an Obsession. The jury members included Carlos Losilla, a film contributor for La Vanguardia and El Punt Avui newspapers, Adolfo Blanco, the founder and CEO of A Contracorriente Films, and Sergi Pérez, a director of films, video clips and advertisements, and a graduate of the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC). The jury also included representatives from the Faculty of Communication Sciences, including Ricard Mamblona, the Head of the Audiovisual Communication degree course, and Isabel Villanueva, the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences.

After the presentations, the jury agreed that the projects gave students a first taste of what they could expect to face when they finish their studies in a few months.

During the course of creating their projects, the students received help from professors Raquel Crisóstomo, Isabel Villanueva and Aurora Oliva from the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Sandra Simó and Joan Marimón as script advisers, Neus Rodríguez as project analyst, and Jos Man, who tutored the students on the three projects.
