Silvia Edo, a DHL executive, talks about the importance of safety at work to ADE students

Silvia Edo, quality director at H&S, and of the Environment and CSR at DHL, gave a talk to students taking the subject entitled "Human Resource Management” on 6 October.

Entitled "Safety at Work", Silvia talked about how important safety is at work. Her talk dealt with the latest trends in human resource departments in relation to safety.

90% of accidents at work occur due to unsafe actions that could be prevented through good practices. Silvia underlines the fact that "Respect" and "Safety” are key values in her company and these translate into programmes, training and recommendations for employees in terms of positive habits, both in their professional and personal lives. One example of this is her motto “SLAM”:  Stop, Look, Assess and Manage. Silvia shared this motto with her students, making them reflect and work in a group looking at the daily activities that are risky and that we can all avoid by simply making some small changes.
