Smart Cities Theme of Second Issue of +1 Digital Magazine

The September issue will focus on smart cities and include feature articles on topics such as big data and e-health, as well as an interview with Isidre Fainé, the Chair of “La Caixa”.

The second issue of +1, the UIC Barcelona’s student magazine, is ready for the presses. Its feature topic, the debate surrounding smart cities, will include differing opinions from leading experts. The magazine will also discuss the place of new technologies in the classroom and feature a conversation between Ignasi de Bofarull, a lecturer in the UIC Barcelona’s Faculty of Education, Catherine L’Ecuyer, the author of the best-selling book Educar en el asombro(Education by Astonishment), and Juan Carlos Hernando, the headmaster of La Farga School in Sant Cugat, which has made a decisive transition towards the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the classroom.

The digital edition of +1 was launched in the 2014-2015 academic year to maintain contact with UIC alumni. The annual print edition aims to address today’s most pressing issues from an academic perspective. Readers can access the digital version at addingstories.com to catch up on these issues and sign up to receive more content. And thanks to social networks, they can also join in the discussion.

It’s all the little things together that make us great.
