Straumann S.A. Provides Grants for Two Dentistry Students to Attend Implantology Course in Bern

Straumann S.A., a company specializing in dental implantology, has awarded grants to two UIC students that will allow them to attend an implantology course at the University of Bern in Switzerland. The recipients are Lucia Barallat, from the Master's Degree Programme in Periodontics, and Basel El-Nayef, who is undertaking a clinical internship in Oral Implantology.

The course in question, Evidence-Based Clinical Concepts in Implant Dentistry, is directed by Dr. Buser, who is a professor and the head of the Department of Oral Surgery and Dentistry at the University of Bern in Switzerland. The course will take place from 26 to 30 August.

The ceremony for the awarding of the grants took place on Wednesday, 24 July 2013; the two students were accompanied by Dr. Lluís Giner, the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Jens Dexheimer, the senior vice president for Iberia at Straumann S.A.
