The Career Services of Alumni UIC Barcelona has selected Nadia Mafara as the new UNICAT ambassador for the 2024-2025 academic year. The UNICAT network is promoted by the Inter-University Council of Catalonia and the Government Delegation to the European Union (EU), and includes twelve students from twelve Catalan universities
The UNICAT Ambassador project is made up of a network of ambassadors interested on a voluntary basis in sharing and disseminating job and internship opportunities in the European Union throughout the university community.
Twelve students representing all Catalan universities are taking part in this year's network, and for the first time in the Catalan university system, there are five people selected by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) as EU Career Student Ambassadors.
Nadia Mafara is a fourth-year Journalism student. Currently, she is doing an internship at RadioTelevisión Española. She was the winner of the UIC Barcelona's University Debate League in May 2022. In Nadia's words: “I believe that bringing the EU closer to the younger generations is key to strengthening the European spirit and ensuring a more pluralistic, connected and transformative future. Engaging young people is critical to consolidating this project both in the present and in the future.”
The programme is promoted by the Inter-University Council of Catalonia and the Government Delegation to the EU, with the aim of working throughout the territory to promote and disseminate the professional practices and opportunities offered by the European Union.
