Student Valeria Gomez is the new UNICAT ambassador at UIC Barcelona
She is currently in her third year of a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising and Public Relations
UIC Barcelona Faculty of Communication Sciences student Valeria Gomez is the new UNICAT ambassador at our University. This is the second year that UIC Barcelona has welcomed an ambassador of this type. The aim of this role is to disseminate and promote all the existing job opportunities and work placements in European Union institutions among students in the university community.
“I think it is a very good opportunity to help with communication issues and a way to be able to implement everything I am studying,” says Gomez. She has already attended the first face-to-face meeting in Brussels for all the UNICAT ambassadors in the different Catalan universities who are participating in this initiative.
Gomez explained that during her degree programme she has become very interested in creativity and that, in the future, she would like to work in the creative department of an agency or company, undertaking campaigns with a certain creative focus. “As a UNICAT ambassador I will be able to develop this dimension and at the same time it will be good for my professional future,” she added.
UIC Barcelona's Alumni&Careers team led this initiative. It was set up by the Inter-University Council of Catalonia and the Government Delegation to the EU with the aim of strengthening the figure of the EU Career Ambassador and offering maximum dissemination of existing employment opportunities and external work placements in European institutions.
