Students of the Barcelona Ceramics Chair visit the TheSize/Neolith headquarters in Castellón

The students were able to visit the company's production plant, renowned in the architectural surfaces sector, in person

On 30 September, seventeen students from the Barcelona Ceramics Chair at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture visited the Neolith production plant in Almassora (Castellón), which specialises in countertops and architectural surfaces. The students were accompanied by the Chair's director, Vicenç Sarrablo, lecturers Jordi Roviras and Cristina Garcia Castelao, and David Bueno, Head of Innovation at Neolith.

During the visit, the Architecture students were able to learn about the company's innovative production techniques, based on technologies for sintering natural raw materials at high pressures and temperatures. This process leads to the generation of architectural surfaces that achieve a high level of technical and aesthetic performance. “At the Barcelona Ceramics Chair, we have always prioritised direct contact between students and the producers of the materials which they will build with. If, moreover, we can rely on the type of kind reception we received at one of the leading companies in the sector, such as Neolith, we feel this is a great success,” said Vicenç Sarrablo, director of the chair.

Neolith was founded in 2009 and has since become an international benchmark in the construction sector. The company has made a clear commitment to the sustainability of its materials and production systems and has therefore remained at the forefront of the industry, through the creation of worktop models that are identical to natural products of great complexity, such as marbles, stones, exotic metals or woods. Neolith currently operates in more than seventy countries thanks to a wide distribution network that includes architects, interior designers and designers from around the world.
