Students from the Master's Degree in Cultural Management present their projects at the Biz Barcelona entrepreneurship event

Two groups of students from UIC Barcelona's Master's Degree in Cultural Management presented their cultural projects at the Biz Barcelona entrepreneurship event, organised in cooperation with the Catalonia Culture Foundation. They also had the opportunity to acquire expert advice.

One of the projects, developed by Andrius Genys, Stella Roeber, Melina Sánchez Bronzini and María Úbeda Morales, is the Barcelona Digital Art Museum (MAD). The premise of this initiative is to create a non-profit organisation charged with expanding knowledge of and appreciation for digital art and promoting its full recognition. It would focus on works of art in which digital technology constitutes an essential part of the creative process and would be the first of its kind in Southern Europe.

MAD is intended as a venue for exhibitions, concerts, theatre performances and workshops with digital artists; one that promotes this type of art and researches, collects and preserves works of digital art.

The other project, PopUpArt, was presented by student Vanessa Severino. This initiative is a collaboratively funded cultural platform that organises events featuring a range of different artistic genres in intimate, creative venues. The objective is to leverage the opportunity to share art in new settings, using technology to reinvent the art experience.

The Biz entrepreneurship event, which took place in the Montjuïc Convention Centre, is organised by Biz Barcelona. It is intended for entrepreneurs and strives to connect people and boost the economy. It attracts a large number of entities and institutions that promote business culture and entrepreneurship. Sponsors include Barcelona Activa, Caixa Bank, the Barcelona Provincial Government, the Barcelona City Council and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce.
