Students taking the Master’s degree in Periodontology receive a research grant from SEPA Oviedo

Two groups consisting of Master’s degree in Periodontology students have received an academic grant to fund the whole process of searching for pre-clinical in-vivo experimentation, undertaken by a group at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. The grant was awarded during the Oviedo 2017 Course, which took place on 10 and 11 March this year.

The SEPA Foundation (Spanish Foundation for Periodontology and Dental Implants) awarded two research grants to the two best protocols for in-vivo pre-clinical experimentation presented before a jury. Out of the different groups who presented a proposal, the two from the Faculty of Dentistry at UIC Barcelona were the ones that received the results.

The winning groups, on the one hand, were students Marta Peña and Diana Palao, supervised by professors Cristina Vallés, Isaac Almendros, Andrés Pascual, José Nart and, on the other hand, the two students Javier Vilarrassa and Tiago Amaral, supervised by professors Giorgio Stroppa and also Cristina Vallès, Andrés Pascual, and José Nart.

Student Pilar Golmayo was also a finalist in the poster competition.
