Three Faculty of Education lecturers win the Teaching Award

Mónica Fernàndez, Mireia Tintoré and Salvador Vidal submitted a proposal for a digital creative teaching scenario in these awards, organised by the UB and which form part of an Erasmus+ Programme.

The lecturers of the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Education, Mónica Fernàndez, Mireia Tintoré and Salvador Vidal, have been awarded with the Teacher Award run by the Department of Didactics and Educational Organization of the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) with funding from the European Commission, within the Erasmus  Programme.

The project presented was a design for a digital creative teaching scenario based on robotics techniques. Together, the teachers created a story, and then programmed a small robot to carry out what they had written. The initiative arose from the training in “Digital teaching competence, new educational tendencies with digital media”, a seminar that was held in the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Education with the cooperation of the UB, during the summer of 2018. The aim was to prepare teachers of the Bachelor’s degrees in Education to foster and improve digital teaching competence within the various specific didactics, as is already done in Experimental Sciences and Maths.

The prizes were a certificate for each winner and a pack comprising three “Robot Mouse”, a robotics set for children to discover the world of programming and logic, and three “Croc & Play”, a creative creation kit based on an electronic circuit.
