Two master’s degrees at UIC Barcelona in the top 3 in their categories in the ranking of master’s degrees by the newspaper ‘El Mundo’

They include the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture’s Master’s Degree in International Cooperation and the Faculty of Dentistry’s Master’s Degree in Periodontology, ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

For yet another year, the Faculty of Dentistry and the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture appear in the ranking of the best Spanish university master’s degrees released by the newspaper El Mundo. In this edition, the Master’s Degree in Periodontology climbed one position over the previous edition, entering the top five in the category of Dentistry. The Master's Degree in International Cooperation: Sustainable Emergency Architecture also moved up one spot in the 2023 ranking, climbing from 3rd to 2nd, only behind the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

The Master’s Degree in Periodontology, directed by Dr José Nart and Dr Cristina Vallès, finished third behind two master’s degrees from the Complutense University of Madrid, while the Master's Degree in International Cooperation: Sustainable Emergency Architecture, directed by Carmen Mendoza-Arroyo, claimed second place after the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

According to El Mundo, among the most relevant aspects of the Master’s Degree in Periodontology is the fact that, upon completion of the programme, the students not only earn a master’s degree diploma, but also a diploma from the European Federation of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. As for the Master's Degree in International Cooperation: Sustainable Emergency Architecture, the publication highlights the Humanitarian Shelter and Settlement course, which is taught during the first three weeks and is certified by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

To draft this report, the publication explored fifty specialisations and chose the top five based on an analysis which takes into account 25 factors and the opinion of 800 lecturers, experts, alumni and corporate partners.
