Two members of UIC Barcelona present their papers at the Building Universities’ Reputation conference

The conference studies the role universities play in today’s society

The vice-rector for the university community, Belén Zárate, and the university community director, Roser Santigosa, participated in the 4th Edition of the International Conference on Building Universities’ Reputation (BUR) held in Piura (Perú) on 3 October and organised by the University of Piura and the University of Navarra.

During the conference there was on a reflection on the role universities play in society, and how processes of interaction affect the reputation of institutions and have an impact on their sustainability. Within the framework of the conference, Zárate and Santigosa gave their respective papers, where they presented various UIC Barcelona social projects.

BUR conferences are academic spaces for reflection on the study and evaluation of the scope and significance of universities’ reputations. This conference arose as a result of the 2030 UN Agenda, which set out 17 objectives to promote sustainable development in all sectors of society, including the university sector, encouraging them to go out and interact with the social realities around them, thus progressing towards the transformation of both universities and the communities in which they are located.
