Two UIC Barcelona Projects Participate in First University-Industry Audiovisual Pitching Event Organized by Catalan Audiovisual Cluster

The documentary film Te Siento (I Feel You) and the short film Macarena are the projects that will be presented by the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University-Industry Audiovisual Pitching Event organized by the Catalan Audiovisual Cluster and Catalan universities offering degree programmes in audiovisual communication.

Both projects won the Best Project award in their respective categories at the 2015 IMMA Awards, the audiovisual festival organized by the faculty every year where students present their Final Degree Projects.

The University-Industry Audiovisual Pitching Event will be held at the Barcelona Centre of Contemporary Culture (CCCB) on Wednesday and Thursday, 21-22 October 2015. After a preliminary selection of the projects by the universities, followed by another selection by the industry, 27 audiovisual fiction, documentary and new format projects will be presented to close to sixty Catalan audiovisual companies.

A sales pitch is a short presentation of a project to potential backers with the aim of attracting attention and beginning negotiations towards a possible financing agreement.

The objective of this pioneering initiative is to facilitate the professional development of students in the final year of the undergraduate programme and the master's programme in Audiovisual Communication and/or Film, and to establish contacts that generate industry awareness of emerging university talent that can lead to employment in the industry.
