UIC Barcelona is again among the 10 universities with the most MIR exams passed

The UIC Barcelona Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is the Spanish university with the highest regularity in this indicator

According to data published by the Specialised Health Training Management Service of the Ministry of Health, UIC Barcelona is again this year among the ten Spanish universities with the highest rates of students passing the MIR cut-off mark.

Almost all of the physicians graduating from UIC Barcelona, 97.6%, passed the last call for the MIR exam, which placed the UIC among the Spanish universities with a highest rate of graduates passing the cut-off mark. “These results give us great satisfaction as the excellent level of the eight graduating classes of physicians that have passed through our university continues,” Dr Albert Balaguer, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences said.

UIC Barcelona is the Spanish university with the highest regularity in this indicator with an average percentage of 98.4%, which is the highest in the country in the last eight years. As Dr Balaguer explained, “The results obtained in the different MIR calls, together with other indicators, reflect the high requirements placed on teachers, the student efforts and the UIC Barcelona methodology, focused on the comprehensive training of future physicians and the development of cross-disciplinary skills.”

A requirement and teaching quality that were recognized this year with the accreditation of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), which has made UIC Barcelona the first private university in Spain to obtain this seal of international quality.
