UIC Barcelona and Calonge i Sant Antoni Town Council sign a cooperation agreement to promote entrepreneurship

The agreement aims to promote qualified training initiatives in entrepreneurship, cultural management and architecture, through educational activities in the Calonge i Sant Antoni area

UIC Barcelona and the Calonge i Sant Antoni Town Council signed the cooperation agreement on Thursday. The agreement has been drawn up with a view to promoting and increasing training initiatives in entrepreneurship, cultural management and architecture. The cooperation will take the form of training activities aimed at local and regional businesses and entrepreneurs. Xavier Gil, rector of UIC Barcelona, and Jordi Soler, mayor of Calonge i Sant Antoni, were present at the signing ceremony.

In the name of this cooperation, the Town Council and the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at UIC Barcelona, through the University’s Innovation HUB, have already launched an initial training initiative for individuals who have graduates from bachelor’s degrees in communication sciences, or similar postgraduate degrees. This intensive course is called the Entrepreneurship Summer Challenge School Calonge by UIC Barcelona, a continuous learning programme open to students who want to broaden their knowledge in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and communication strategies.

The course was held in Calonge in the second week of July and involved 16 participants. The content was provided by UIC Barcelona lecturers who are specialists in the fields of communication, entrepreneurship and innovation.

The Entrepreneurship Summer Challenge School Calonge by UIC Barcelona is the first initiative that both institutions have organised and carried out as a joint venture. However, the agreement also aims to promote other entrepreneurial actions in various theoretical and practical fields to raise awareness of and promote Calonge i Sant Antoni as an entrepreneurial hub.
