The Government of Catalunya’s Industrial Doctorates Plan has granted new co-financed funding to UIC Barcelona. This project, launched jointly by our University and the tech firm Telanto, will research knowledge transfer between the academic and business worlds.  The doctorate is led by the lecturer Jasmina Berbegal from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, and the Faculty's Dean, Marta Mas.

Over the course of the doctorate’s three years, the Barcelona-based company Telanto, which connects universities and companies from around the world using an online learning methodology based on solving real-life business challenges, will make their platform available to UIC Barcelona, allowing us to incorporate different subjects into our bachelor's degree curriculums. As a result, students will have the chance to tackle practical business problems and increase their knowledge, businesses will benefit from their talent and proposals and the University will be able to enrich its curriculums by incorporating learning on the real needs of the sector.

The project is being led by doctoral student Eva Bozilovic Schrack, who is researching the empirical evaluation of what happens when all agents involved in the learning process, including students, teachers, businesses and the University, collaborate together, with the aim of analysing how this methodology could enhance the academic system.
