UIC Barcelona and the Universidad de los Andes join together to offer a double degree in Dentistry
Thanks to this new collaboration between the two universities, students will be able to practice in both countries, expanding their professional opportunities
UIC Barcelona Faculty of Dentistry has signed a collaboration agreement with the Universidad de los Andes, which will allow students of the University to complete a double degree in Dentistry at the Chilean university, and vice versa.
This initiative is the first proposal for a double degree in the study programme of the Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry and reinforces the collaboration that exists between the two universities. For years, UIC Barcelona and the Universidad de los Andes have been jointly developing research and mobility projects between the two institutions for teachers and students. Dr Lluís Giner, dean of the Faculty, explained, “over the last few years, more than 30 students have participated in an exchange programme at the Universidad de los Andes with a very positive outcome. These types of initiatives offer our students quality education and human experiences that will accompany them all through their lives.”
The Universidad de los Andes is a reference institution in the field of Health Sciences and its university clinic is bustling with activity, attending around 8,000 patients a month, which is a very beneficial educational opportunity for the students. The Universidad de los Andes and its Faculty of Dentistry rank first and third respectively in Chile's national innovation ranking system.
