UIC Barcelona asserts its results in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and improves in research and citation

The University once again strengthens its position in the international Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 (THE-WUR) and improves its national ranking in research and citations.
 

UIC Barcelona is once again placed within the classification of the best universities in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In the 2023 edition the university is in position 801-1000 of the 1799 universities ranked worldwide, and at a national level is in position =15 of the 55 of the Spanish universities in the ranking.

The Times Higher Education (THE) ranking provides a classification of the world's best universities, assessed by 13 performance indicators that are grouped into five pillars: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.

Improving on last year, in this edition UIC Barcelona has increased its scores in four of the five pillars that make up the ranking: research (+1.9%), citations (+2.4%), industry income (+0.5%) and international outlook (+0.1%). 

The institution is among the top five Spanish universities in international outlook, and among the top fifteen Spanish universities in citations (research influence). 
The THE World University Rankings remain the leading international classifier to support excellence in higher education. A ranking of 1,799 institutions from 104 countries is published this year, based on the participation of more than 2,500 institutions of higher education and research worldwide. This year's ranking analysed over 121 million citations in more than 15.5 million research publications and included responses to surveys from 40,000 academics worldwide.
