At the end of April the Faculty of Dentistry at UIC Barcelona and the Official Society of Dentists and Stomatologists of Catalonia (COEC) signed an academic cooperation agreement to undertake external work placements. Through this agreement, signed by Dr Lluís Giner, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr Antonio Gómez, the placements of students from the Faculty in the centres affiliated with the COEC, which take in patients who are at risk of social exclusion, will be regulated. Patients may also be transferred from the Red Cross or other organisations which the COEC holds agreements with.
