The UIC Barcelona Docentia Manual, one step away from official accreditation

An External Evaluation Committee that was appointed on an ad hoc basis by AQU Catalonia (the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency) visited UIC Barcelona with the aim of providing accreditation for the Docentia Manual, which provides an overview of evaluation of the teaching undertaken by our professors and lecturers. We were the first private university in Catalonia to receive an external visit to proceed towards the accreditation of our manual.

The main aim of this accreditation visit was to evaluate how the evaluation processes we have designed in our manual for teaching evaluation function and are applied.  This aim rests on the principles of transparency, agent satisfaction and accountability.

The Specific Committee for the Evaluation of Individual Merits and Activities (CEMAI) will send out a final accreditation report within the next few months.

The Committee held meetings with those in charge of degree programmes, evaluated professors, students, members of the evaluation committee and the internal committee responsible for the Docentia Manual.
