The Sant Cugat Health Campus will play host to the new Center for Studies of Sleep Medicine AdSalutem Institute-UIC, which will drive knowledge and specialised training in the field of Sleep Medicine.

The staff at the Center for Studies of Sleep Medicine AdSalutem Institute-UIC will be Sleep Medicine specialists and will carry out research projects and training programmes in efforts to increase existing knowledge in all areas of this field. This academic year, UIC Barcelona began offering Sleep Medicine as an optional subject in the Bachelor's Degree in Medicine, to help students acquire the knowledge needed to identify the population’s sleep habits and understand their impact on health, as well as the ability to plan the diagnostic process and the correct course of treatment for various sleep disorders.

Present at the signing of the agreement were Dr Xavier Gil, rector of UIC Barcelona, and Dr Antoni Esteve, on behalf of AdSalutem Institute - Sleep Medicine.
