UIC Barcelona hosts first Conference on the Phenomenology of the Body and Pain Analysis

Experts from Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Argentina all met on 23 and 24 November in Madrid

Doctor Xavier Escribano participated in the III Conference on the Phenomenology of the Body and Pain Analysis held on 23 and 24 November in the Centre of Human and Social Sciences (CSIC) in Madrid.

For the third consecutive year, Dr Escribano attended the event, this time as a moderator for various round tables presenting talks and papers.  Other experts from Spain also attended, such as Luisa Paz Rodríguez from the University of Zaragoza. Specialists from Portugal, Mexico and Argentina also attended this event.

UIC Barcelona is an organisation that is interested and closely involved in this research project.  In fact, the first conference was held two years on our Sant Cugat campus with participation from researchers and healthcare professionals.

The project itself, dedicated to the Phenomenology of the Body and Pain Analysis, is inspired by existing contemporary philosophical debates on pain, but is also interdisciplinary in nature since it aims to encourage a debate between different areas of knowledge.
