About the Young University Rankings by Times Higher Education

The Young University Rankings provide a ranking of the best universities in the world that were founded between 1972 and the present day, i.e. that are no more than 50 years old. In short, it is an analysis of young universities, the future of universities.

A total of 539 universities were ranked in the 2022 edition, compared to 475 in last year's edition, as 64 new universities were added to the international rankings.

The methodology used for the Young University Rankings 2022 is based on the same 13 performance indicators used in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings grouped into 5 pillars: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income, adjusting the weightings to give less weight to reputation.
