For a second consecutive year, UIC Barcelona has repositioned itself in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, a ranking including the best universities in the world, and in this 2022 edition obtained position 801-1,000 out of the 1,662 institutions classified worldwide, and at a national level, position =20 out of the 52 Spanish universities classified.

The Times Higher Education (THE) university ranking provides a ranking of the world's best universities, assessed based on thirteen performance indicators that are grouped into five areas: teaching, research, citations, industry revenue and international perspective.

UIC Barcelona has improved its scores as compared to the previous edition, in four of the five areas that make up the ranking: learning (+0.3 %), research (+0.7 %), industry revenue (+2.9 %) and international perspective (+2.9 %).

The institution is ranked among the top five Spanish universities in international terms and the first fifteen Spanish universities in terms of industry revenue.

The THE World University Ranking remains the leading international ranking to rank excellence in higher education. In this edition, a classification of 1.662 institutions from 99 countries was published based on the participation of 2.114 higher education and research institutions worldwide. This year's ranking analysed more than 108 million citations in more than 14.4 million research publications and included responses to surveys from nearly 22.000 scholars worldwide.
