UIC Barcelona, member of the Oracle Academy

UIC Barcelona has signed an agreement with Oracle Ibérica S.L via which the Oracle Academy will be set up, which will provide support for more than 2.6 million students in 106 countries. The Oracle Academy will offer courses ranging from Big Data to cloud computing (which includes databases, SQL and Java) and will provide the infrastructure behind the Master’s degree programmes in Big Data which the university  teaches.

UIC Barcelona has reached an agreement with Oracle Ibérica S.L via which the university will become a member of the Oracle Academy institution.  As a member of the Oracle, UIC Barcelona will have access to academic resources in computing sciences which will benefit both lecturers/professors and students in terms of increased knowledge, developing skills and innovation.  Being a member of the Oracle Academy also provides access to technology, curricula and teaching material designed by experts, as well as training and other resources at a global level. Within this context, the Oracle Academy will also participate in the two Master’s programmes our university already offers, in the area of teaching, infrastructure and technology: our Executive Master’s degree in Business Intelligence and Big Data and our Executive Master’s degree in Big Data Business Decisions. These two postgraduate programmes are offered by the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences. By signing this agreement, UIC Barcelona will benefit from recognition from Oracle, one of the most prestigious software companies in the world.
