The UIC Barcelona presents its Range of Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at Educational Resources Exhibition

On Wednesday, 18 March 2015, UIC Rector Dr. Pere Alavedra greeted Andreu Mas-Colell, the Catalan Minister of Economy and Knowledge, and Irene Rigau, the Catalan Secretary for Education, during their visit to the inauguration of the 26th edition of the Educational Resources Exhibition, which was open until Sunday, 22 March 2015. The UIC Barcelona unveiled its new corporate logo at the Exhibition.

Over the past few days, thousands of students visited the Educational Resources Exhibition, which remained open until Sunday, 22 March 2015, at the Fira de Barcelona trade-fair facilities. Over the course of five days, student volunteers, administrative staff and teachers at the UIC Barcelona stand provided information on the 13 degree programmes offered by the UIC Barcelona on both of its campuses.

At this year’s Exhibition, the University unveiled its fresh new corporate logo: from this point on it will be known as the UIC Barcelona. This logo draws on the Cerdà Plan and aims to communicate what the University really is: not just students, but people; not just a campus, but Barcelona; not just classes, but experiences; not just degree programmes, but life projects; not just professions, but vocations.

The Catalan University Sports Association (ECU) once again had its own stand at the Exhibition. Through its Sports Service, the UIC Barcelona collaborated with other Catalan universities to organize the different sporting activities held from Thursday to Sunday, 12-15 March 2015. At the entrance to the exhibition, in Univers Square, four 3-on-3 basketball courts were set up. The objective was to encourage the public to participate in university sports and to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Two Nursing and Physiotherapy workshops focusing on athletic care also took place in Univers Square, as well as an Architecture workshop in which students had to guess the location of several stadiums and sports complexes.

The UIC Barcelona also participated in the Futura Fair on Friday and Saturday, 20-21 March 2015, where it presented its more than one hundred postgraduate programmes.
