UIC Barcelona presents two new patents in one year

The two patents were created by researchers in the field of health sciences and architecture

UIC Barcelona closes 2021 having registered two new patents created by research teams in the field of Physiotherapy and Bioengineering, on the one hand, and in the field of Architecture, on the other.

The first patent, entitled “Sistema para evaluación y tratamiento de la columna cervical” (System for the evaluation and treatment of the spine), was registered in mid-October jointly by researchers Andoni Carrasco and Pere-Ramon Rodriguez from the Department of Physiotherapy, and Xavier Marimon, Alejandro Portela and Roman Pérez from the Department of Bioengineering.

The second patent, entitled “Celosía de tubos cerámicos”, (Ceramic tube latticework), was also registered in October and was presented by UIC Barcelona School of Architecture professor Vicenç Sarrablo.

These two new patents have now been added to the six other patents registered at UIC Barcelona during 2020 and show the University's commitment to science and to the transfer of knowledge to society.
