UIC Barcelona has been classified with the Sustainable Development Goal 5 on Gender Equality in the individual objective tables of the 2024 University Impact Ranking of the prestigious Times Higher Education world ranking.
The University scored 71.1 out of 100, with the highest score being 79.7, from Western Sydney University Australia, and is in the following positions:
- worldwide, 56th out of 1361 universities.
- nationally, 3rd out of 44 universities.
- and among Catalan private universities, ranked 1st out of 7 universities
Since 2019 the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings aims to measure the impact of higher education institutions in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This ranking is based on indicators that allow a comparison between universities, taking into account different activities: research, teaching, management and transfer to society.
The THE Impact Ranking uses the data presented to produce two types of classification: an overall ranking of universities based on the three main SDGs for each individual university; and 17 SDGs (for revitalising global partnerships) and individual rankings of universities based on performance in each SDG.
For the first time, the Cooperation and Sustainable Development Office of UIC Barcelona presented itself in the Sustainable Development Goal 5 Gender Equality to be classified in the individual objective tables in the THE Impact Ranking in the 2024 edition: “This good result was possible thanks to the collaboration and work of people from different departments, services, offices, units and faculties of the University,” the office has commented.
