UIC Barcelona receives a visit from UC Berkeley

Darin Menlove, director of Study Abroad at the University of California, Berkeley came to UIC Barcelona on 19 June. The objective of the visit was to keep account of the partnership and explore future options.

UIC Barcelona and UC Berkeley have been partner universities since 2015, when they signed a cooperation agreement following Dr Jaume Armengou’s research stay at the American university. This agreement is open to all faculties and departments at UIC Barcelona.

This is the third straight year that students from UIC Barcelona will have the opportunity to take part in an international mobility stay at UC Berkeley, where they will attend classes during the summer. Up until now, participating students had studied either Architecture, Law or Humanities. This year, however, they will be joined by students from Medicine and Business Administration and Management.

Menlove met with the vice-rector for Academic Organisation and International Relations, Dr Jaume Armengou, and with representatives from the Faculty of Humanities, Marketing and International Relations.

UC Berkeley is the number one public university in the world, according to the 2017 Shanghai Ranking.
