UIC Barcelona retains its place in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings
Once again, the University consolidates its position in the international ranking of the best universities in the world, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 (THE-WUR).
UIC Barcelona has retained its position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In the 2024 edition it is in position 801 - 1,000 of the 1,904 ranked universities worldwide. At national level, it is in position = 17 of 56 ranked Spanish universities.
The Times Higher Education (THE) university ranking is based on a new WUR 3.0 methodology, which includes 18 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure each institution’s performance in five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
In this edition UIC Barcelona increased its scores compared to last year, in two of the five indicators that make up the ranking: teaching (+5.2%), and international outlook (+2.2%). This last category positions UIC Barcelona among the top five Spanish universities.
The THE World University Rankings continues to be the leading international ranking underpinning excellence in higher education. This year the ranking includes 1,904 institutions from 108 countries and is based on a participation of 2,673 higher education and research institutions worldwide. This year’s ranking analysed more than 134 million citations in 16.5 million research publications and included survey responses from 68,402 academics around the world.
The objective of the UIC Barcelona Statistical Data and Rankings Office is to measure the performance of different aspects of the University through data and evidence, allowing it to be visible both nationally and internationally through the social impact produced by rankings and listings.
