The UIC Barcelona School of Architecture Master’s Degree in International Cooperation ranks third in the ranking of university master's degrees in the ‘El Mundo’ newspaper

This programme has now been counted among the top five master’s degrees in the Design and Architecture category for five years in a row

One again this year, our Master’s Degree in International Cooperation: Sustainable Emergency Architecture at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture has ranked among the five best master’s degrees in Spain, in the Design and Architecture category, in the prestigious El Mundo newspaper ranking. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Master’s degree has managed to position itself in this newspaper’s ranking, with the exception of last year, in which the ranking could not be published, as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19.

In this new edition of the ranking, El Mundo highlights that “it is an Erasmus Mundus master’s degree with (the added bonus of) a network featuring prestigious European universities, thus promoting mobility (for students)”.

“We are very happy to receive this recognition once again this year, it is the result of teamwork carried out over recent years with Dr Raquel Colacios and Allison Koornneef. It is also wonderful that a master's degree that prepares professionals from the built environment to respond starting from the design to the impact caused by the climate emergency, forced migration and inequality, both on an architectural and urban scale is valued” said the director of the Master’s degree, Carmen Mendoza-Arroyo.

Our Master's Degree in International Cooperation: Sustainable Emergency Architecture has already held twelve editions and has received official recognition. The Master’s Degree teaches architects, urban planners and other professionals to develop and rebuild communities affected by the growing impact of climate change, military conflicts, rapid urbanisation and financial crises, both in developed and developing countries.
