Four proposals have been accepted from among the applicants, all from the fields of social sciences and health sciences in the form of Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education.
The Faculty of Education Sciences has secured €265,331 in funding, the highest amount obtained by the university, for the project “Climate Change Related to Catholic Education as Subject in the HIE Programmes of Education Sciences”, led by Dr Mónica Fernández. This is the first European project to be coordinated by UIC Barcelona. It aims to propose new ways of working with teachers and future educators and develop the CHANCES methodology, which intends to draw parallels between religion and science and make young people more aware of the need to contribute to the fight against climate change.
The same Faculty will also receive funding for the project “4ArtPreneur: Innovative thinking competences for Creative Arte entrepreneurship”, in which the Faculty of Humanities is also involved. Led by Dr Esther Jiménez, the project intends to make faculties, teachers, students, professionals and government actors more aware of the importance of culture and the creative arts, and more receptive to the acquisition, validation and sharing of entrepreneurial skills, in line with the specific needs of cultural and creative industries.
The project “SMART-QUE: Structured indicators to manage HEI Quality System”, led by Dr Frederic Marimon and the promoted Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, has also been accepted as part of this call. One of this study’s main objectives is to design and harmonise indicators for quality management systems in higher education, based on the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
Finally, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Department of Nursing has also received funding to carry out their project titled “EDUFI: A new agenda for nurse educator education in Europe”. Led by Dr Pilar Fuster, the project will focus on the development and assessment of a common educational framework to standardise training for teachers on bachelor’s degrees in nursing across Europe. The aim is to bolster and modernise teacher training by outlining the skills and expertise needed to teach and guide students from the field of healthcare.
