UIC Barcelona students will offer dental care to people with disabilities from the Prodis Foundation

Students from our Master's Degree in Geriatric Dentistry, Special and Medically Compromised Patients will be in charge of treating the new patients in our centre

UIC Barcelona and the Prodis Foundation have signed a cooperation agreement to promote a project in which students from our Master's Degree in  Geriatric Dentistry, Special and Medically Compromised Patients will offer dental services to adults with intellectual difficulties or mental illness.

Through this initiative, patients from the Foundation will be transferred to UIC Barcelona so that our students from the area of Geriatric Dentistry, Special Patients and Oral Medicine, supervised by Dr Belisa Olmo, can check over their oral health and perform any appropriate treatment. “This experience involves making our area visible as a benchmark in the dental treatment of patients with disabilities,” said the Master’s students.

The Prodis Foundation is a non-profit social initiative organisation aimed at comprehensive care for and promotion of adults with intellectual disabilities, mental illness or cerebral palsy.
