UIC Barcelona takes part 4ArtPreneur: the European entrepreneurship project
The university’s Faculty of Humanities participated with an event called Innovative Thinking Competences for Creative Art Entrepreneurship
Innovation, entrepreneurship and art were present once again at UIC Barcelona with the Innovative Thinking Competences for Creative Art Entrepreneurship conference that took place on 14 December in the Alfa 506 classroom. The event was held by the Faculty of Humanities and organised within the framework of the 4ArtPreneur European project, in which UIC Barcelona has been collaborating for the past two years. It was attended by artists, architects, journalists, cultural management professionals, an art commissioner and vice-rector of the oldest art gallery in Barcelona.
The event began with a presentation by Judith Urbano, dean of the Faculty of Humanities and project collaborator, who used the European project as a point of reference for the course objectives. ‘The purpose of this session is to offer information about the project and get some direct impressions from the attending professionals, which are very valuable,’ said the dean.
Christoph Pasour, director of the master’s degree in Arts and Cultural Management and keynote speaker, then presented the project to the audience, speaking about the type of student who had participated, their work, results obtained and particularly the conclusions drawn from the initiative. The act ended with the feedback from all those present: the innovation and necessity of the course were highlighted.
The faculties of Education Sciences and Humanities of UIC Barcelona are participating in the 4ArtPreneur consortium, created with EU Erasmus+ funding which aims to create a course to train university students in the field of creative and cultural arts with a focus on entrepreneurship, providing them with the skills to start their own businesses after they finish their studies.
