UIC Barcelona welcomes around 30 new international exchange students

The university has welcomed a total of 28 international students from 15 different European countries, who are beginning their academic exchange at the institution for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Last Thursday 3 September, the International Relations Service at UIC Barcelona held the Welcome Week for new international exchange students.  The activities took place over two separate days (Thursday 3 and Saturday 5 September), respecting at all times the health, hygiene and safety measures set out by the healthcare authorities.

On the first day, the new international student body attended an introductory and informative session and was introduced to the different services offered by the university. Throughout the morning, the students also met their respective academic mobility coordinators, who gave them a tour around the facilities on our Barcelona campus.

As in previous years, the Welcome Week activities included several workshops organised and led by the Department of Applied Linguistics and the International Relations Service, which this year were called ‘Catalan for Dummies’ and ‘Cultural Shock’. Thanks to these activities, new students had the chance to get to know each other and learn their first phrases in Catalan.

Finally, on Saturday 5 September, all international students took part in a guided tour of Barcelona to see the city’s most emblematic spots.
