UIC Barcelona’s Sant Cugat Campus sets up nearly 200 beds for intensive care patients
The Sant Cugat Campus facilities adapted for intensive care patients from the Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya received their first patients on 9 April
Following the guidelines of the health authorities, UIC Barcelona has assigned around 2,750 m2 of facilities, including the 1,000 m2 of the University’s Integral Center of Advanced Simulation, to the Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya. In this way, UIC Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals and society, and together with Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya is able to add almost 200 intensive care beds to the 600 usually available in the Catalan Healthcare System.
In addition to this, UIC Barcelona’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has undertaken various other initiatives, such as the supply of healthcare and protective equipment to hospitals or the work being carried out on a voluntary basis by many students of the Bachelor's Degree in Medicine, the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
