The UIC Holds 3rd 3M ESPE Espertise Symposium
On Saturday, 23 February 2013, the UIC hosted the 3rd Espertise Symposium «Innovation in Restorative Dentistry» organized by the company 3M ESPE.
Some of the topics discussed included aesthetic conservative dentistry solutions, new materials for adhesive procedures, the restoration of highly damaged posterior molars, and new digital printing options. One of the conference speakers was Dr. Miguel Roig, the head of the Restoration Area in the UIC Faculty of Dentistry.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Santi Costa, the scientific coordinator of the symposium. The conference was closed by Dr. Francesca Vailati, who read the paper “Complete Oral Rehabilitation: From Minimally Invasive to Non-Invasive Dentistry”.
Dr. Vailati has a degree in Medicine from the Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro (Italy) and a degree in Dentistry from the University of de Pennsylvania (USA). She earned a certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Connecticut and in 2003 joined the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), where she currently teaches. Dr. Vailati has contributed to several articles in the field of restorative dentistry and implantology. She has spoken at conferences on a wide range of topics related to full-mouth adhesive rehabilitation and prostheses on implants.
The conference was attended by more than 300 industry professionals.
