The presentation raised the curtain on Women Entrepreneurship Day, an event consisting of a series of training and coaching seminars related to starting and managing businesses. Running throughout the afternoon, these seminars offered a forum to discuss issues such as motivation, the keys to setting up a company, legal considerations around start-ups and how to incentivize entrepreneurship. Successful Spanish women entrepreneurs were also present and took to the floor to share their experiences and offer practical pointers, while there were also networking opportunities for the students and businesswomen in attendance.

The Young Women as Job Creators project, which is promoted by the Association of Organizations of Mediterranean Businesswomen (AFAEMME), aims to advise, motivate and train a group of 10,000 young female university students in Spain, Morocco, Palestine and Jordan in order to spur them on to become successful businesswomen and future job creators. The project has been endorsed by all 43 Member States of the Union for the Mediterranean and will be implemented in these four countries between May and November 2013.

While a total of approximately 10,000 young women from these countries will be taking part in the project, it will take on special relevance for the estimated 400 participants who already have a potential business venture in mind. The idea is to equip these individuals with all the necessary knowledge to start and run a real business.

Once the various seminars scheduled have taken place in the four participating countries, AFAEMME will publish a report with facts and figures on the current state of affairs for women's entrepreneurship in each country and the perceptions of the university students involved. This report will also include a qualitative analysis of the conclusions and recommendations that have emerged from the project.
