The UIC Hosts Third Edition of Teacher Stress Conference

The UIC and Teacher Stress Research Group of the Official Association of Psychologists of Catalonia (GRELDO) held the 3rd Conference on Stress Among Education Professionals on Wednesday and Thursday, 26-27 April 2012.

The UIC Faculty of Education hosted the third
Conference on Stress Among Education Professionals, whose title this year was
“Where Stress and Anxiety Come From”. In past years, the conference was held at
the Official Association of University Graduates and Postgraduates of Catalonia
and dealt with illnesses that can be brought on by work-related stress, as well
as the objective and subjective factors that cause it.

Throughout the conference, teachers, university
professors, psychologists and educational psychologists gave a total of 12 presentations
related to stress on topics such as the analysis of data on teacher stress and
the prevention and treatment of stress. The conference also included a series
of hands-on workshops in which experts showed participants how to manage
stress.

As a follow-up to the conference, the Institute of
Advanced Psychological Studies (ISEP) has published the conference proceedings as
compiled by Dr. Núria
Arís, the Assistant Dean
of the Faculty of Education and the coordinator of the UIC Official Master’s
Programme for Research in the Human, Social and Legal Sciences.
